Job Description

Ministry of General Affairs, Department of Legal Affairs and Legislation The Department of Legal Affairs and Legislation invites qualified and ambitious candidates to apply for the position of Legal and Administrative Advisor (Juridisch Bestuursadviseur). The Legislation section plays a central role within the Government of Sint Maarten and is responsible for reviewing draft legislation from all ministries. The section also works actively on the further professionalisation of the legislative apparatus, among other things by streamlining procedures, improving the accessibility of legislation and strengthening interdepartmental cooperation in preparing new legislation. The section also advises on constitutional and administrative-legal questions. Education, experience and competencies - A completed academic degree in Dutch law. - Knowledge of both administrative law and private law matters is an advantage. - Demonstrable relevant work experience in the legal field. - Demonstrable ability to carry out coordinating work effectively. - The ability to work purposefully and carefully, both independently and in a team. - Sharp analytical skills and a critical, ethical professional attitude. - Persuasiveness and the ability to convey legal advice clearly and authoritatively. - A pragmatic and solution-oriented attitude. - Excellent insight into administrative relations and decision-making processes within government. - Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written. - Excellent communication and teaching skills. Salary The salary is determined on the basis of education and relevant work experience and is a minimum of Cg 9,017.50 and a maximum of Cg 14,470.00.
