Job Description
Ministry of General Affairs, Department of Personnel & Organization (P&O)
The Department of Personnel & Organization (P&O) is responsible for developing P&O policy proposals, supervising the implementation of existing P&O policy and supporting the government's ministries on personnel and organization matters in general. We are a department where every day brings new challenges and no two days are the same. With almost 1,500 employees within the government, the task of P&O is a dynamic one that requires our team to be professional, expert and consistent. We are currently looking for suitable candidates to fill the following position:
Occupational Social Worker (Bedrijfsmaatschappelijk werker)
Make a serious impact with your contribution to the prevention of (occupational) dropout. You can do so in your role as result-oriented Occupational Social Worker at the P&O Department, working closely with occupational health care. You understand that vitality is one of the most important factors that make people feel good about themselves, and that this prevents dropout.
What you will do
As Occupational Social Worker your mission is to enable employees to work optimally and with pleasure. You contribute to this from your personal drive and curiosity about working people and their well-being in their work environment. You advise and support employees with psychosocial stress insofar as it relates to, or affects, their work situation.
Your work includes
- Conducting preventive and curative conversations in case of (imminent) dropout due to psychosocial stress, for example through loss of control and motivation, overload, insecurity, conflict, grief or other private stress situations.
- Advising and consulting HR and managers to prevent reduced performance or dropout of employees, or, in case of dropout, to promote an adequate reintegration process for the employee.
- Where applicable, advising managers and providing initial support to employees after traumatic experiences.
- Providing information and/or training on themes within psychosocial workload.
- Proactively signalling and advising management on the well-being of employees and making this a topic of discussion within the organization.
- Through the involvement of and cooperation with colleagues, switching faster in the recovery process and supporting the organization (our clients) with a proper absenteeism and prevention policy.
By improving the safety and the conditions in and under which people work, we want them to feel good about themselves. This creates committed and motivated people who enjoy their work and their lives. And what we want to achieve for other departments and services within the government is of course just as important for our own colleagues within the P&O Department.
What we are looking for
You are characterized by a result-oriented attitude and an approachable personality. With your communication style and personality you know how to make a difference for clients. You are empathetic, committed and know how to place and keep responsibility where it belongs. You also have integrity and can work well both independently and in a team.
You also have
- A completed higher professional education (HBO) as a social worker.
- At least 3 years of experience as a social worker.
Candidates with direct ties to Sint Maarten are preferred.
Salary
Depending on education and experience, the salary is a minimum of Cg 3,903.00 and a maximum of Cg 7,085.00 per month. The salary scale for this position is scale 9.
